About Maya
My name is Maya Landman. I am a Painter and Mixed Media artist living and working in Tel Aviv, Israel.
One of the 9 members of the art group "HAVADA" (The committee) that was founded two years ago in order to create a collective platform for artists to work together towards group exhibitions.
Born in Toronto, Canada in 1982 and completed my B.Ed in Fine Arts and Art education at “Hamidrasha” School of Art, Beit-Berl Academic College, Israel in 2009.
Latest shows include Art Souterrain - Montréal ,“Traces – The Biennale for Drawing in Israel” and “Fresh Paint 3” the Israeli art fair in Jaffa Port .
My art is based on randomly occurring imperfections and mistakes, using the flaws for my advantage, i tell a story. Often, assessing human situations using an animal slant .
The essence of my work is the acceptance of human variation through the appreciation of the imperfections in nature and animals.
